The thrill of creating is something that has always excited me. Curiosity envelopes me every time I get the chance to bring my ideas to life. Those ideas stem from a place of storytelling. I’ve always been fascinated by stories, especially mythological ones. How they explain the origins of the world and the meaning of the human experience has always pulled me in. Growing up in the PNW has also aided this sense of exploration, with the possibilities that could be around every corner. I make art to appreciate my own reality. A place that I go to find comfort and peace through the many different mediums that I utilize. I’ve especially found a deep love for printmaking, particularly with relief, intaglio, and screen printing. The anticipation of not exactly knowing how a piece will turn out is exciting and your hard work is revealed within only a few minutes. On the more technical side of things, I tend to choose more saturated and bright colors that entice the viewer. To me these colors really bring my artworks to life and that’s what I enjoy the most when choosing them. I like attention to detail in my works, wanting to capture all the elements as clearly as possible. I’ve come to embrace that each artwork is a new adventure, ready to be explored along with all the uncertainties that come with it.
